Programme Introduction

Current frontier technology developments have substantially expedited the transformation of many engineering industries. The Bachelor of Engineering Elite Programme aims to nurture talented and top-performing engineering students to be future leaders in these transformation journeys. By letting students freely choose a BEng degree programme to study and assisting them with our academic advising and industrial mentorship resources, we believe the programme will considerably benefit students by exploring the unique potential of each of them. Entrance and overseas exchange scholarships will be available to enrich their learning experiences, and students can also opt to join theBEng X + MScEng AIE scheme (6377).

What You’ll Study

Students will focus on their Engineering core courses in Year 1 and then freely choose a BEng degree programme (Civil Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Data and Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Bachelor of Engineering programmes of the School of Computer and Data Science) to study starting from their Year 2. They will receive the same solid training in our existing BEng programmes and obtain the same BEng degrees. Special Academic Advisors will guide students through their curriculum design and overseas exchange planning, and Industrial Mentors will assist students in learning and connecting to state-of-the-art practices in the corresponding industries. Students in the Elite Programme can also opt to join the BEng X + MScEng AIE scheme (6377) to pursue more interdisciplinary training.

Exciting Opportunities

Students will build solid foundations in their chosen engineering discipline and be connected to the frontier technologies needed in the industries through active learning, capstone experience, hands-on activities, academic advising, industrial mentorship, internship, exchange studies, and service learning, which prepares them to pursue promising engineering careers in the future.

Professional Recognition

Following graduation with their BEng degree, students will be eligible to apply for the corresponding professional recognition with the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

Career Prospect

The Elite Programme graduates are expected to have great flexibility in their career choices and development. In addition to the existing opportunities in engineering sectors, other students may also choose to serve in the business, research, education, social and community sectors. In the past, around 16% of the BEng graduates pursued further studies in Hong Kong or overseas.
